CASE STUDY: Wetland Forest Initiative

On World Wetlands Day 2017, Dogwood Alliance gathered over 20 partners to launch the Wetland Forest Initiative (WFI). A diverse array of organizations, tribes, agencies, and landowner associations joined together with a simple mission: to conserve, restore, and improve Southern wetland forests to strengthen our communities through science-based actions, diverse partnerships, and citizen and landowner engagement.

We produced a call-to-action video to accompany the launch of the initiative in celebration of World Wetlands Day.

Main objectives:

Produce engaging content to accompany the launch announcement of the Wetland Forest Initiative

Educate viewers about threats to wetland forests and provide solutions for conservation and restoration

Drive traffic to the new website

Our goal for widespread social media distribution was accomplished by producing a call-to-action video, combining animated text overlay with compelling images. We sourced b-roll filmed on-location with stock footage and photos to drive the narrative.

The video engagement exceeded expectations with record views and shares for the organization’s social video. It was distributed widely by page followers and partnering organizations. It was also blasted via email newsletters and subsequent sponsored posts. The video is now hosted on the “About” page of the WFI website.
